Color, rust and Bugs

They say that April showers bring May flowers . . .
I'm sure that's true . . .
And May showers . . .
Mean less watering and great photos.
All of this rain also helps to grow something else . . .
A rust garden -- inspired by my friend eb.
I'm a total novice about growing rust . . .
But, I'm working on it, and these pages will soon be bound into a journal, which I'll share before long.
On a sad note: Today, my son had to put down his long-time companion, Bugsie. Bugs was everybody's friend, but especially devoted to Jordan. He will leave a huge hole in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

  1. Great photos is right!!! And such a sweet face his Bugsie has. My thoughts go out to your family, I'm sure he will be missed greatly.

  2. oh Leslie - how I love visiting you and your magical view on life...
such glory in the flowers - and yes - raining here today too
so perfect for rusting - thanks so for linking to my wanderings
hopefully soon we will glory together in the joys of rusting ceiling tiles, etc...
    a rusty birthday perhaps?
    enjoy your wherever trip
yes - love to Bugsie - such a sweet face

I am looking forward to seeing you again soon,

    xox - eb.

  3. hey!

    xox - eb.

  4. So sorry to her about your loss:( Was Bugsie a German Shepherd? He looks a lot like Lync as a puppy.

  5. I'm sorry to hear about Bugsie. Sounds like he was a well-loved pup. Pets like him always stay in our memories, don't they?

Your photos of the flowers are gorgeous. All this rain we've been getting in our part of the world has made for a lush spring, hasn't it? I'm looking forward to seeing your rust pages. Eb created some amazing pieces out of rusty bits and from your sneak peeks in this post, you have, too. I like the watercolour look of the bleeding rust and I'm impressed that you can get such crisp lines on the paper. Yep, can't see what you create with these pages.

Have a terrific holiday weekend, Leslie!

  6. rusty pages and gorgeous flowers all wonderful and I cannot wait for your reveal, but sending heartfelt waves of compassion over Bugsie... they love us so completely, we never forget them or how that feels... xx

  7. Gorgeous photos. My heart goes out to your son. We had to say good bye to our beautiful Husky Dakota after 15 wonderful years two weeks ago. Sending healing thoughts to your family.

  8. As always gorgeous pictures, Leslie!

  9. So sorry to hear about Bugsie...
