My father turned 80 the other day, and I asked him if he'd done anything fun for his birthday.
He said, "I pretty much don't do anything that isn't fun these days."
Well, why should he.

I've been living by the same philosophy around here. Playing with fabric and stuff I found in the yard last fall.

I have a limited number of leaves left pressed between the pages of catalogs, so I'm working with eucalyptus too.
They throw off some great color.
And the heady scents that come from the dye pot. . .
Makes me want to spend all of my days with a dye pot roiling in the yard and a needle and thread in my stained fingers.

Yep. We're pretty much not doing anything that isn't fun around here these days.

  1. Lovely :)
We should all stick to fun stuff! When I saw the first photo...I thought, "That would make a great shower curtain!" Give ya the outdoor feeling :)

  2. I am so with you
yes - it is always fun
    what else is there?

    xox - eb.

  3. gorgeous fun here!

  4. This post makes my hair curl......I have never felt closer to God than with a dye pot of leaves........ox

  5. life is too short for anything not fun... gorgeous work...

  6. yay, this is so upbeat, which was certainly needed (by me) today!

  7. Dear Leslie, everything IS fun with you! I loved spending time with you at your home with you and Bee and Joanna. Loved the dye pot and my new creations.
But I have a long ways to go until they look like yours. Love the red leaves and the light lines going through them. Are they eucalyptus as well?
