Even before she was old enough to voice her opinion about such things, my three-year-old granddaughter has adamantly loved the color blue and a little stuffed lamb named Pinchie.
Pinchie got her name because Soph has especially loved Pinchie's tail.
The other day, Soph brought a little piece of blue silk chiffon out of my studio and asked if I could make a dress for Pinchie out of the fabric.
After some negotiations, an overnight with a spare Pinchie, and a couple of video calls to check on my progress, Soph's bff has a new blue dress. And a crocheted hat - because that's the craft of the week.
Per instructions, the dress has blue buttons.
And this very important feature.
Oh the attention to detail...and the all of it...so very charming! Lucky little gal :)
ReplyDeleteMy childhood stuffed lamb is named Lamby...I still have her and she too wears a dress of blue!
Thanks, Nancy! I'll have to tell Sophie about your lamb. She'll get a kick out of that!
DeleteWhat a wonderful grandmother you are!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen! It's my best gig ever!
DeleteAnd her in her cute blue bathing suit. Does pinchie have a twin? xox
ReplyDeleteI know, right? Is there anything cuter than a little girl in a bathing suit? I love the legs! Pinchie has two aliases, but only the original will do!
DeletePrecious. You are also a master of 'bokeh'. I am intrigued by it these day. 'Good' bokeh, as they say. I usually see it in nature photos. Your portraits are stunning examples. I love visiting your life...
ReplyDeleteThanks, M. Bokeh sometimes occurs as a happy accident for me. That was the perfect location for this family photo, as the hill dropped off behind the wall, down to a road, before climbing back up to the field you see behind them. It made for a great depth of field and bokeh.
DeleteI am living a pretty awesome life I think, and I'm so grateful to know that.
Oh Leslie, this is such a lovely, adorable post, I just can't stand it. Your family is just beautiful, and so is Pinchie. I want a grand daughter... but meanwhile Jim and I have our sweet doggies, one who is hiding in my closet because of the thunder...
ReplyDeleteI miss you...
roxanne
I am blessed, Roxanne! Thanks!
DeleteScout is so terrified of the thunder that even rain sends her to one hidey hole or another.
Miss you too!
xo
Okay, I can't stand it. This is the MOST LOVELY THING! What a great job you did. And Soph's hair is so long! She's the cutest.
